no rehearsals tonight

It is Wednesday, and normally, I would have rehearsals tonight, but we only start back next week. This happens to work out perfectly for me, as I lost my voice on Sunday and although it is almost back today, it is still low and breathy...when I try and go higher.. it just squawks...like a pubescent young boy.

Next week instead of singing though, I have to photograph 60 people in a 2 hour time frame. This means.. take the picture, no chit-chat allowed. Otherwise I will never be done. These photos will certainly not be typical studio shots.. they will be for assigning roles, costumes, accessories. Each person will be given a form to fill out.. with his name and vital statistics. Take the form.. add ten pounds to what everyone wrote and you got it just about right! ;)


I got another small contract.. this time for gift certificates for spa treatments. Massages and body wraps in seaweed, clay or wax. These treatments cost a fortune, so they don't want to sell gift certificates that look like high-school diplomas.

So here is my idea. I make a card, something like a greeting card. It has a small translucent pouch in it where you put the actual gift certificate which is very small.. like a business card. The idea is that the giver can write a sentiment inside the card that the receiver can keep if they wish and just remit the small card to the spa. The envelope matches the interior paper and the whole is tied with a gold ribbon.
